JAX 07, the leading conference for Java, Enterprise Architectures and SOA, has exceeded last year’s record attendance by over 300 attendees and attracted more than 1,900 visitors to Wiesbaden, Germany. As last year, the comprehensive conference offer was successfully accompanied by the Enterprise Architektur Konferenz and Eclipse Forum Europe. The exhibition with more than 60 companies, running in parallel to the conference, was already booked out weeks before the start of the conference.
The extensive program offered the attendees more than 200 speeches and workshops on everything concerning modern information technologies: SOA, Agile Project Management, Application Lifecycle Management and Java Web Technologies, Web Services and Ajax as well as Desktop and Mobile Java. On top of the main conference, the special days Spring Day, SOA Management Day, Agile Day and Business Process Management Day provided deep insights into the respective topics.
Internationally renowned experts spoke at the conference, such as Tim Budreau (Sun Microsystems), Erich Gamma (IBM OTI Labs, Zurich), Brian Goetz (Sun Microsystems), Rod Johnson (Interface21) and Ivo Totev (Software AG). The exhibition, JAX Expo, hosted more than 60 top-class companies of the IT industry using the chance to present their latest products and services. The exhibition was booked out long before the start of the conference and also counted external sales prospects without conference participation.
A special highlight of the conference was the JAX Innovation Award taking place for the second time in the scope of the conference on 25 April. The Award, coming with a purse of 20,000 Euros, is an initiative of Software & Support Verlag and aims at promoting European projects on Java, Eclipse and SOA and wants to emphasize Europe’s potential for technological innovations. In 2007 the Award was firstly supported by co-sponsor Software AG. The winners are:
